Staff and Training Site

The School

Suburban Truck Driver Training School is located in Romulus in Western Wayne County, Michigan. The main administration offices are located in the same building as the training center. The CDL driving school was established in 2005 as a private institution. Unlike many other schools and community colleges, truck driver training is the only business we are engaged in, so our entire staff is able to focus on the issue of quality truck driver training and the successful placement of each one of our graduates into a quality, high-paying tractor-trailer driver job.

People come to our Michigan truck driving school for one reason and that is to train to drive Semi-Tractor-Trailers. We believe that excellence in education is measured by practical outcomes that enhance the lives of students who contribute positively to the workplace.

Administration Building

The Administration Department is located within 13,000 square feet of space at:

This building houses the school management, educational services, student services, curriculum development and job placement departments.

Indoor Training Facility

Students attending Suburban’s Semi Tractor Trailer Driver Programs will receive the benefit of CDL training in Michigan at our custom 13,000-square-foot, modern training complex. We believe our facilities for CDL training in Michigan are among the largest and best-equipped in the United States. We can utilize 3,000 square feet of classroom space and 4,000 square feet of shop space to conduct training exercises that are performed outside at most other schools.

Training Equipment

Suburban Truck Driver Training School provides and maintains a quality fleet of tractor trailers for our students during their training experience. We feature the top manufacturers of truck tractors such as Freightliner, Volvo, Peterbilt, Kenworth, and International. The road fleet is comprised of late model tractors, which are comparable to the exact road tractors that are currently on our nation's highways.

Our Michigan truck driving school pays attention to equipment variety – not only to the name brands but also to the power trains utilized in our training fleet. We feature engines from Caterpillar, Cummins and Detroit Diesel Series. Our truck transmissions range from 9 speed, 10 speed and 13 speed.

The trailer fleet is represented by a large section of manufacturers. We currently utilize 53 foot van trailers, some of which have sliding tandem axles.

Instructional Staff

The training instructors are made up of friendly individuals who have years of practical experience as professional tractor trailer drivers and professional instructional development experience. All of our CDL driving school instructors attend training classes and are up to date on the latest rules and regulations. Each instructor is required to be licensed by the State of Michigan and Department of State and has hands on experience in the area of training in which he/she will be instructing.
